Learning how to cook beef tongue is a great skill if you want to expand your culinary horizons!

Besides being very simple, this base technique will definitely impress your guests, since beef tongue can be used in various dishes. For instance, once cooked, it can be pan-seared or grilled and eaten as an appetizer, side, or main dish!

  • Halve and peel 4 small onions

  • Roughly chop 5 celery stalks and add to a large pot along with the onions

  • Add 2ยฝ tbsp of coriander seeds and 2ยฝ tbsp of black peppercorns to the pot

  • Add 4 dried bay leaves and 2 pieces star anise

    Step 3
  • Add 1 beef tongue and just barely cover with water

    Step 4
  • Place on the stove over medium-low heat, put the lid on, and simmer for 6h until tender

    Step 5
  • Allow to cool slightly, transfer the tongue to a baking dish, and peel off the skin with your hands. The beef tongue is cooked
