Flour Tortilla is a great recipe to make at home, as it is super simple and can be paired with various spreads, fillings, and dips.
It can be eaten as a late night snack or even served at a dinner party, allowing your guests to play with different combinations.
One tip to keep your tortillas fresh and malleable: after they come out of the skillet, cover them with a clean kitchen towel to keep the moisture.

Add 3 cups of all-purpose flour to a large bowl
Add 1tsp of salt and 1tsp of baking powder
Use a spatula to create a well in the flour
Add ⅓cup of lard into the well
Add 1 cup of warm water and mix with the spatula
Mix with your hands until the dough starts to come together. Transfer to a clean working surface
Work on the dough until it forms a taut ball
Portion the dough into 8 small balls and place them on a dish
Wrap the balls in cling film and set aside for 2h to rest
Dust a working surface with all-purpose flour. Place one portion of the dough on top and press it with your hands to form a flat disc
Use a rolling pin to flatten the dough as thin as you can, dusting more flour if necessary so it won’t stick. Repeat with the remaining dough
Place the dough in a skillet greased with vegetable oil over high heat. Grill one side until golden brown. Flip and grill the other side for 30s. The flour tortillas are ready
