Hot Winter Whiskey
A little twist on a traditional Irish hot whiskey, which is often referred to as hot toddy around the world. Perfect to warm up the winter days
Trim and chop <quantity>1<unit>stalk</unit></quantity> of lemongrass into chunks
Slice <quantity>1<unit>thumb</unit></quantity> of ginger
Peel <quantity>1</quantity> orange
Add <quantity>300<unit>g</unit></quantity> of honey to a medium pot over medium heat
Add <quantity>200<unit>ml</unit></quantity> of water and mix until the honey is completely dissolved
Add the orange peel
Add the sliced ginger
Add the chunks of lemongrass
Add <quantity>1</quantity> star anise
Simmer over medium-low heat for 20m until infused
Allow to cool down and strain into a bottle. The hot toddy honey mix is ready
Remove a slice of <quantity>½</quantity> lemon. Cut the slice in half
Pierce the peel of the slice with <quantity>4</quantity> cloves
Pour <quantity>20<unit>ml</unit></quantity> of the Hot Toddy Honey Mix and <quantity>50<unit>ml</unit></quantity> of Irish whiskey in a hot resistant glass
Add <quantity>100<unit>ml</unit></quantity> of hot water and stir
Rub the pierced lemon rind against the rim of the glass and drop it on the drink. The hot winter whiskey is ready
