Salt Baked Beets

Salt Baked Beets is a very easy and simple recipe, with only two ingredients.
The bed of salt absorbs the moisture from the beets and helps season them all the way through. You can serve them as they are, combine with other ingredients to create a whole dish, or even add them on top of a salad.
This technique is perfect for cooking hard and fibrous vegetables.

Salt Baked Beets

Preheat the oven to 140°C
Evenly spread 400g of coarse salt into a baking dish and add 10 clean red beets
Bake in the oven for 2-3h until fork tender. Let it cool down at room temperature
Remove the beets from the salt
Peel the beets with the help of a knife
Quarter the beets. The salt baked beets are ready
Enjoy! Serve them as they are, use them to create a whole dish, or add them to a salad!
