Artichokes are a product that aren’t often used at home, as people don’t dare cooking with them, especially since they don't usually know how to clean them. However, they are a very rich ingredient that's easy to use with just a little practice!
In this skill, we will teach you how to properly clean your artichokes for whenever you want to cook with them!
Fill a container with water. Add the juice of 1 lemon and the squeezed lemon halves
Peel the artichoke by pulling off the tough outer green leaves, until you're left with the pale yellow leaves at the base
Trim the stem of the artichoke
Use a knife to cut out the colorful tips of the leaves, leaving a flower shape
Scrape out the center of the artichoke and gently roll it on a cutting board, applying some pressure to loosen up the leaves. Hold the stem to give stability when rolling
Peel and trim the stem
Place the artichoke in the lemon water to prevent browning until ready to use. The artichoke is clean
