With a vibrant color and intense flavor, the Basil Oil is extremely versatile!
This oil enhances the fresh basil flavors and can be used in various dishes such as pizzas, cheese platters, crunchy bread toasts, and grilled poultry or seafood.
Fill a pan with water and bring to a simmer over medium heat
Cut off the bulb and pick the leaves from 1 large bunch of fresh basil
Prepare an ice bath
Blanch the basil leaves in the simmered water for 30s, and transfer them to the ice bath
Strain the basil leaves, removing the ice cubes. Press the leaves with your hands to remove any excess water
Transfer the leaves to a tall recipient and add ½ cup of extra virgin olive oil
Blend with a hand mixer until completely homogeneous
Strain the oil through a cloth set on a fine mesh sieve. Press the cloth to remove as much oil as possible
The basil oil is ready
