Béchamel
One of the most classic sauces in a kitchen. The béchamel is very easy to make and only uses milk, butter, and flour. It can be seasoned with many different spices and ingredients, and can serve as a base for lots of recipes, such as a cheese sauce.
Melt <quantity>3½<unit>tbsp</unit></quantity> of butter in a saucepan over medium-low heat
Add <quantity>6<unit>tbsp</unit></quantity> of all-purpose flour and whisk until smooth
Add <quantity>500<unit>ml</unit></quantity> of milk while whisking. Let it cook for 15 minutes, mixing regularly, until it thickens
Season with salt to taste. The béchamel is ready
