A fresh blackberry compote that has both tanginess and sweetness. The addition of herbs really kicks it to the next level.
This versatile technique can be used to create quick jams for charcuterie boards, breads, biscuits, pancakes, or waffles.
Add 3 cups of blackberry and the zest of 1 lemon to a saucepan
Add the juice of 1 lemon. Strain to remove the seeds
Add ¼ cup of sugar and ¼ cup of water
Turn the heat to medium-low, mix to combine, and simmer for 15m. Stir occasionally until you obtain a rough jam
Pick 1 sprig of thyme. Chop the leaves, add to the saucepan, and mix to combine
The blackberry compote is ready. Enjoy it with yogurt, cakes, tarts, or however you prefer!
