BLT Sandwich
The bacon, lettuce, and tomato (BLT) is the quintessential summer sandwich for all ages. The beauty of a BLT is the way the sweetness of the juicy tomatoes plays off the rich, fatty saltiness of the bacon, and the way the lettuce adds crisp freshness and, dare I say it, a little nutrition to the whole thing. For a vegetarian option, replace the bacon with avocado or grilled oyster mushrooms.
Preheat the oven to <temperature>180<unit>°C</unit></temperature>
Place <quantity>5</quantity> bacon slices on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper
Place the bacon in the oven and cook for 18m until brownish
Cut <quantity>1</quantity> beef tomato into <quantity>5<unit>mm</unit></quantity> thick slices
Place <quantity>2</quantity> slices of white bread over parchment paper. Add <quantity>3</quantity> lettuce leaves and <quantity>2</quantity> tomato slices
Remove the bacon from the oven. If you want the bacon to be crispier, cook for an additional 2m-3m
Season the tomato with black pepper and salt to taste
Fold the bacon and place over the tomato
Add mayonnaise to taste and top with <quantity>2</quantity> lettuce leaves. Close the sandwich
Wrap the sandwich
Cut in half. The BLT sandwich is ready. Enjoy!
