Cherry Lime Cordial
30m
A cordial typically refers to a sweet, syrupy liquid that is often flavored with fruits, flowers, or herbs. It is usually used as a mixer or flavoring agent in cocktails, but it can also be enjoyed on its own as a non-alcoholic beverage.
This tasty cordial is made with cherries and lime peels. You can use frozen cherries if they are not in season.
Add 150 g of cherries to a medium saucepan
Add 100 ml of water and 60 ml of white wine vinegar. Turn the heat on low
Add the peels from 4 limes to the saucepan and stir. You can reserve the limes for a drink or a juice
Add 100 g of sugar and stir until dissolved. Let it simmer for 20m to extract the flavors
Strain the liquid, discarding the cherries and the lime peels. If you wish, you can use them to top a cake or some muffins
Transfer the liquid to a clean bottle. The cherry lime cordial is ready
Enjoy it in your cocktails! You can keep it refrigerated for up to 2 weeks.
