Clarified butter, also known as ghee, is a useful ingredient in your kitchen. It can be heated without burning, unlike regular butter, which makes it perfect for sautéing, frying, and baking. It can also be used as a spread on breads, a dipping sauce for seafood, or to drizzle over popcorn, instead of using regular butter.
Melt 1¾cups of butter on a saucepan over medium heat
Simmer the butter for 15-30m to separate the solid white part from the liquid. Skim off and discard the solids as they appear
Sieve through a fine mesh sieve or a cheesecloth. The clarified butter is ready
Enjoy. Use it for sauteing and stir frying, or try it as a more aromatic alternative to your dishes than regular butter.
