Coconut Washed Whisky
The Coconut Whisky is a fat-washed whiskey, with all of the flavor and none of the fat.
Use this whisky to bring the aromas and silky texture of the coconut to your cocktail. You can use bourbon or whiskey.
You can use this process with any kind of fat that you want to infuse into any spirit.
Add 200 g of unsweetened shredded coconut to a pot over medium heat. Lightly toast them, mixing constantly
Add the toasted coconut and 750 ml of whisky to a container. Save the bottle if it's empty
Cover the container with a cloth and let it sit for 12h to infuse
Strain the mix through a sieve
Cover the container with a lid and place it in the freezer for 12h
Strain the coconut washed whisky through a coffee filter
Pour the liquid into a bottle. The coconut washed whisky is ready
