Used coffee grounds still retain so much of their flavor! Coffee oil is a great way to extract that flavor and use it in a new and fun way. You can use coffee oil in recipes where you want to bring a light coffee aroma, such as granolas, cakes, pancakes, waffles, etc.
There are so many opportunities to repurpose ingredients that are often discarded. This recipe is a testament to that idea and turns a commonly wasted item into a flavor-packed ingredient with many applications.
Pour 1 cup of vegetable oil into a blender
Add ½ cup of dried used coffee grounds
Blend on low speed and gradually increase to high until grounds are pulverized
Extract the coffee flavor at room temperature for 1d
Pour oil through fine sieve just until the sediment starts to come out. The coffee oil is ready
It can be used in cakes, pancakes, brownies, cupcakes or any other baked goods!
