A great drink that returns to Bar Ran's winter menu every year. It combines the best of all dark flavors! Perfect to enjoy with a Habano and a bar of dark chocolate. In this recipe, a Woodford Reserve Rye and an Ardbeg single malt whiskey were used.
Place 105g of coffee beans and 700ml of Pedro Ximénez Sherry in a sealable jar. Stir and close with a lid
Soak it for at least 4h to infuse
Strain the sherry. The coffee liqueur is ready
Pour 60ml rye whiskey and 15ml of the Coffee Liqueur into a mixing glass
Add 1tsp of simple syrup and 2 dashes of absinthe
Add 1½tsp of single malt whisky
Add ½cup of ice cubes and stir well for 30-45s
Pour the cocktail into a chilled glass filled with ice cubes
Spray with a smoked single malt whisky to taste. The coffee Old-Fashioned is ready. Enjoy!
