Coffee Old-Fashioned
A great drink that returns to Bar Ran's winter menu every year. It combines the best of all dark flavors! Perfect to enjoy with a Habano and a bar of dark chocolate.
Place <quantity>105<unit>g</unit></quantity> of coffee beans and <quantity>700<unit>ml</unit></quantity> of Pedro Ximénez Sherry in a sealable jar. Stir and close with a lid
Soak it for at least 4h to infuse
Strain the sherry. The coffee liqueur is ready
Pour <quantity>60<unit>ml</unit></quantity> rye whiskey and <quantity>15<unit>ml</unit></quantity> of the Coffee Liqueur into a mixing glass
Add <quantity>1<unit>tsp</unit></quantity> of simple syrup and <quantity>2<unit>dashes</unit></quantity> of absinthe
Add <quantity>1½<unit>tsp</unit></quantity> of single malt whisky
Add <quantity>½<unit>cup</unit></quantity> of ice cubes and stir well for 30-45s
Pour the cocktail into a chilled glass filled with ice cubes
Spray with a smoked single malt whisky to taste. The coffee Old-Fashioned is ready. Enjoy!
