Cortado Coffee
Have you ever tried a Cortado Coffee? It's an absolutely delicious coffee drink! A shot of espresso with a small amount of steamed milk, usually in a 1:1 or 1:2 ratio of espresso to milk. The milk is there to "cut" the acidity and intensity of the espresso, creating a smooth balance while still allowing the strong taste of the coffee to shine through. It's often served in a small glass to show off the beautiful contrast between the dark espresso and the creamy milk. Try it. You'll love it!
Grind <quantity>20<unit>g</unit></quantity> of coffee beans to an extra fine consistency for use in an espresso machine
Add the ground coffee to the portafilter. Use a distribution tool to evenly spread the coffee and a tamper to firmly press the coffee into a compact, uniform puck
Release a splash of wate, insert the portafilter into the machine and secure it firmly. Place a pre-warmed glass under the spouts and start the extraction for 25-30s
Steam <quantity>1<unit>cup</unit></quantity> of cold milk with a steam wand until it's velvety smooth with minimal foam
Slowly add an equal amount of steamed milk to the espresso, trying to maintain a 1:1 or slightly higher ratio of milk to coffee. The cortado coffee is ready
Serve it while it's hot. Enjoy!
