How long can I keep the pickled onions?
These pickled red onions will keep for 2-3 weeks refrigerated in an airtight container. The vinegar brine acts as a preservative, but they'll start to lose crunch and flavor after a few weeks.

Pickled Red Onions

Peel, trim, and cut 1 red onion into petals
Add 1 cup of red wine vinegar and ⅔cup of white wine to a medium pot over medium heat
Add 3½tbsp of white sugar and 1tbsp of salt
Bring to a boil
Add the onion, cook for one minute, and remove from heat. Allow to cool to room temperature. The pickled red onion is ready
