Plum Jam
This is a super simple and quick plum jam. It can be easily stored in jars for ages, but it can also just be kept in a bowl in the fridge for a couple of weeks. You can try this recipe with lots of different fruits, and use different types of sugar and spices.
Cut <quantity>6</quantity> plums in half. Remove the seeds and quarter each half
Transfer the plums to a saucepan
Add <quantity>1</quantity> small cinnamon stick, <quantity>2</quantity> star anises, and <quantity>2</quantity> dried bay leaves
Add <quantity>1¼<unit>cup</unit></quantity> of turbinado sugar. Turn the heat on to medium. Let it cook until the sugar starts to melt and bubbles
Cover with a lid or aluminum foil, and turn the heat down to low. Let it simmer for 45-60m until thick and jammy. Turn off the heat and remove the lid
Let it cool down and remove the spices. The plum jam is ready
