Vareniki Dough

A versatile and traditional dough used to make Ukrainian dumplings known as vareniki. Can be used with different types of fillings, both sweet and savory.

Sift <quantity>1½<unit>cup</unit></quantity> of all-purpose flour into a mixing bowl

Add <quantity>½<unit>tsp</unit></quantity> of salt. Make a well in the center and add <quantity>1</quantity> egg yolk

Add <quantity>2<unit>tbsp</unit></quantity> of sunflower oil and <quantity>½<unit>cup</unit></quantity> of hot water

Gradually mix the flour with the wet ingredients until you obtain a soft and pliable dough

Knead the dough to form a ball and wrap it in cling film

Place the dough in the refrigerator for 1h to relax. The vareniki dough is ready
