Rice Pudding
Rice pudding is a British staple that is great for kids. This one is super easy, but you can put it in the oven at the end and bake it until the cream and sugar caramelize. It's pretty naughty! You can add vanilla beans and other flavorings, such as kaffir lime leaves and lemongrass, for a nice Asian touch! It also goes great with some finely grated orange zest on top! Use whatever rice you like. Short grain makes it creamier, but I like jasmine because it tastes better.
Add <quantity>½<unit>cup</unit></quantity> of jasmine rice to a pan
Add <quantity>1<unit>cup</unit></quantity> of milk
Add <quantity>⅔<unit>cup</unit></quantity> of cream
Add <quantity>¼<unit>cup</unit></quantity> of sugar. Stir to combine everything
Cook over low heat for 15-18m, until the rice grains are soft and creamy. Stir occasionally to make sure the rice won’t stick to the pan and will cook evenly. The rice pudding is ready
Enjoy! It pairs perfectly with some finely grated orange peel on top of it!
