Saffron Crème Fraîche is a flavorful and creamy condiment that can be used as dipping sauce, topping or marinade, and even on desserts! This crème fraîche compliments meat, steamed fish and fried potatoes! The saffron adds that extra layer of flavor and beautiful bright orange color.
I wanted to make a sauce using crème fraîche that wasn't just crème fraîche! The combo of mayonnaise, crème fraîche and saffron makes a delicious and original sauce.
Put 1 pinch of saffron in a bowl
Add 2 tbsp of hot water
Mix saffron to release flavor and color
Add ½ cup of mayonnaise to a bowl
Add 2 tbsp of crème fraîche
Strain saffron water into the mix
Whisk to combine
Press the saffron into the mix
Whisk to combine
Add 2 tbsp of crème fraîche and mix. Adjust seasoning if necessary
The Saffron Crème Fraîche is ready! Add to foods like fried potatoes or steamed fish and asparagus for that complimentary richness!
