Sazerac
A classic cocktail that highlights one of my favorite places, New Orleans. The sazerac is a historic drink filled with personality that uses only alcoholic ingredients but keeps a great balance of flavors. You can replace the rye whiskey for bourbon and cognac, if needed.
Fill an old fashioned glass with ice cubes. Spray absinthe and mix it
Add <quantity>2<unit>tsp</unit></quantity> of sugar to a mixing glass
Add <quantity>6<unit>dashes</unit></quantity> Peychaud's Bitter and shake to mix it
Add <quantity>60<unit>ml</unit></quantity> of rye whiskey
Fill the mixing glass with ice and stir it
Remove the ice cubes from the old fashioned glass and strain the drink into it
Peel <quantity>¼</quantity> of a lemon. Express the peel over the drink and use it as a garnish. The sazerac is ready
