An umami-packed bomb, this broth recipe could not be easier to make. Tare is a concentrated sauce made in Japanese cuisine used as a dipping sauce or a seasoning for various preparations. When referring to Ramen, there are several different types that can be made, including Shoyu Tare, like the recipe shown here. These sauces are what give each ramen their namesake punch of flavor.
Add 3tbsp of sake to a saucepan on medium heat
Add ⅓cup of mirin and simmer to burn off the alcohol
Mix ½tsp of salt with ½tsp of sugar and add to the liquid
Combine to dissolve
Turn off the heat. Add 1 cup of soy sauce and mix to combine. The Shoyu Tare is ready to be used
