Strawberry Horchata
A perfect summer drink. Dairy-free, gluten-free, low fat. It is very important to soak the rice in fresh water overnight. You can replace the fresh strawberries for strawberry jam or for your favorite fruit. You can also play with the sugar proportions depending on your paladar.
Place <quantity>1<unit>cup</unit></quantity> of soaked and drained white rice and <quantity>2<unit>cups</unit></quantity> of strawberries in a blender
Add <quantity>1<unit>cup</unit></quantity> of sugar and <quantity>½<unit>tsp</unit></quantity> of vanilla extract
Add <quantity>8<unit>cups</unit></quantity> of water
Blend until smooth
Strain through a fine mesh sieve
Fill a cup with ice and pour the horchata in it. The strawberry horchata is ready
