This is Chef Sasu's version of a classic Toast Skagen! Also known as Skagenröra, this is a classic Swedish dish that is popular in Scandinavian cuisine.
The name "Skagen" comes from Skagen, a town in Denmark, but the dish is more closely associated with Swedish cuisine. It's a beloved appetizer or snack in Scandinavia, and is often served at various celebrations and gatherings.
The combination of fresh shrimp, creamy mayonnaise, and the herbal notes of dill make Toast Skagen a delightful and flavorful treat.
Combine 1 tbsp of mayonnaise and 1 tbsp of crème fraîche in a bowl
Add grated horseradish to taste
Add the zest from ⅓ lemon
Add the juice from ⅓ lemon
Add salt and ground black pepper to taste. Stir to combine
Add the mixture to 150 g of peeled and precooked shrimp. Stir to combine
Finely chop 4 sprigs of dill
Add the chopped dill and stir to combine
Add 2 toasts to the bowl. The toast skagen is ready
