Zé Paulo Rocha

An ambitious chef, born in Lisbon, but a Minho lover at heart, Zé Paulo Rocha developed his culinary (and personal) skills at home, with his family, and this has been his vocation ever since. His first inclination was towards pastry, but he quickly realized that he was passionate about all facets of Portuguese cuisine. His journey began in the family kitchen, and in 2018, at the age of 19, he joined the team at Taberna Sal Grosso. At 21, he opened his own restaurant, O Velho Eurico, where he now has the space to showcase all that he knows, expressing his love for cooking and the rich traditions of Portugal. Curious about the future and always ready for a challenge, he defines his cuisine as traditional Portuguese, with room for improvement whenever possible, never losing sight of the essence he deeply respects. For him, the art of hospitality and good food will always be linked. And that's what he conveys at every step.
