A simple recipe for white rice that can be paired with grilled vegetables, roasted meats, stews, omelets, and anything else you can think of!

Long Grain White Rice

Peel, halve and small dice ½ onion
Mince 4 large garlic cloves
Put a saucepan over medium-low heat, add 5tbsp of vegetable oil and the minced garlic. Stir
Add the diced onion, stir and let it cook until slightly translucent
Add 2 cups of white rice and stir
Add 1 dried bay leaf and ½ tsp salt and mix
Add 4 cups of water and mix
Bring to a boil and cook until ¾ of the water has evaporated
Turn the heat down to low, cover and let the rice finish cooking until all the water has evaporated. The white rice is ready
